In Sweden there are several hundreds of Ufo sightings reported every
year. But there are also other observations - these sightings are reported to
foreign Ufo societies for some reason. There are a number of observations that
have been reported to the finnish Ufo organisation called the Suomen
Ufotutkijat ry.
Ulvgryt, Örebro in Sweden
Sommer of 1945 and 1949:
In the Summer of 1945 a six-year-old boy was picking raspberries on his
parents farm. Suddenly he spotted three silvercoloured lightspheres bouncing
up and down. They were about the size of tennisballs and appeared about 10
metres in front of the boy. Estimated height was about 1,5 metres. When the
boy approached them and even tried to grab the silvry spheres, they just
slipped away - and vanished totally.
The second observation took place four years later in the same location. This
time the sighting was about a cigar-shaped craft. It was reddish and hovered
in the sky for a couple of minutes. Then the craft began to move slowly. The
height was estimated of 1 kilometre. The boy who was ten years old at that
time, ran into the house and told the others to come out and take a look. But
when they got there, the cigar-shaped craft had disappeared.
One may add, that the man who reported the two sightings, had also seen two
unidentified phenomena and reported them to Finland. The first observation
was about a light-phenomen in a starry nightsky. On the second occasion he
reported having seen a atrange object flying in front of a twinengined
aeroplane.
Outside of Ekerö, Stockholm in Sweden
09.05 1974:
This observation was reported by a Finno-Swede who was 37 years old and
worked as a ships electrician. The sighting took place when he was taking a
trip by boat together with a friend. It was early dawn andabout 2-3
kilometres from their position, when the man spotted a spherical craft which
was shimmering in blue. He estimated its size at approximately 35 metres in
diameter. The craft was surrounded by 5-6 yellow windows or perhaps smaller
crafts. The man shouted to his friend to come up on the deck and look at the
object. When his friend came up they stared at the craft for 2 minutes. Then
the craft began to descend and landed behind a clump of trees.
A couple of days later, the man and his wife returned to the area where he
thought that the craft had disappeared out of sight. In the middle of a
forest they found a gravel-pit, with no roads leading to it. The gravel-pit
was 30-40 metres in diameter and 10 metres deep. They both associated the
gravel-pit with the previous observation.
Abrahamsberg, Stockholm Sweden
10 am, in the Summer of 1976:
A man and a woman went for a walk on a warm evening. There where some thin
clouds high up in the sky. The couple spotted three plough-formed formations
above the clouds. Each formation consisted of 3-4 dots shining clearly, but
with different colours. The man estimated, by his own calculations, that the
objects were moving with approximately 30.000 km/h. Those days the couple
belonged to a religious church and the woman commented on their observation
that -it must have been a sign from God.
Kapellskär, Sweden
1979, in the evening:
This sighting is reported by a Finnish woman and her friend when they were
visiting Sweden. On a clear and sunny after-noon they were driving towards the harbour of
Kapellskär. When they passed by the side of a glade in the woods, they
noticed a sphere of light which appeared "out of nowhere" in front of the
car. They stopped the car and both of them saw how this sphere of light moved
slowly across the road from the right side to the left.It left no trace, no
sound or smoke or sparks. After about 10 seconds the sphere of light
disappeared into the woods on the left side of the road. The Finnish woman
estimated the light-sphere to be about 1-2 metres in diameter moving
approximately 2 metre above the ground. The closest approach was 2 metres
from the car.
Heikki Virtanen, who is a member of the UFO-research in Finland has read the
reported observations:
- In four of the cases there are not enough of information and we have not
been able to check them... however, in the fifth case, I refer to the sighting
at Ekerö, they could really have seen the moon or some man-made structure
which left clouds of smoke behind it-says Virtanen.
