Mienbrev 10

Friday, July 6, 2007

Last day of Småland and now we pack up. And it is only to note Mienprojektet became so much more than a research project around the lake mien. I myself have traveled 150 mil through Skåne, Blekinge and Småland during this week and I think everyone in the group has had the same experiences I have, that people we have met has been very positive and pleasant.

There is a myth which says that ufo is something that you do not like talking about. But it is wrong have been easy to find. The vast majority have appreciated our visit and feel free to talk away for a while, although most certainly have not seen anything. Another myth is that the media would be uninterested. Week in southern Sweden has shown the opposite. I have personally never seen a greater pressure from the media. The result has been lots of articles, television spots and radio interviews.

Perhaps most impressive is the way that UFO-Sweden and ufofenomenet have been treated in the media. Almost without exception, articles and features have been of high quality. Nobody ridicule what we do. Aftonbladet able to have with the phrase "little green men" in the title but it was also the only exception. The journalist who followed us for a few hours wrote a perfect article, while some news director pointed to the title and preamble.

Newspapers Telegraphic Agency wrote two texts on our work and had a web-TV team during half days. Radio Kristianstad sent a one hour telefonväkteri with me in the studio where many took the chance to call to talk about their experiences. Radio Kronoberg sent a mailing to Arbil Urshult which a reporter followed us during half days of live coverage. Sydsvenska Dagbladet published a full spread since their reportage team kept up with for almost a day. Rows of newspapers had us on their front pages and Växjö Bladet wrote to and with a leader.

This is just a few drops from a seemingly endless flood of articles and features written about Project mien. Thanks to them knew almost all that we knocked on in the UFO-Sweden was in the pipeline which in turn made it easy for us to contact.

To open the door for some unknown knocking on is not always the easiest so attention helped us very much up.

With us home, we have rows of interesting reports and stories. Some of them will be published in UFO-News. Next year we will have to Karlskrona to keep riksstämma and then the whole material will be presented.

So now the project was completed weeks. Everyone has gone home and are now beginning to instead work to print bathed interviews and producing images. It's been incredibly fun and a privilege to lead a team of such skilled and interested employees. I think that we will do it some other summer. Where in Sweden remains to be seen.
